First Class Database

The First Class program uses a database (included with the program), consisting of the files that contain the names and descriptions of the cultivars. Every two months the database is updated, as names and descriptions are added. Most users of First Class like to occasionally purchase an updated database, to keep their database current.

You can purchase a database update in either of two ways:

  1. Order an update diskette from the AVSA office for $5.00 USD. A good time to do this is in early November, just after the Nov/Dec issue of African Violet Magazine comes out, which contains the Supplement to the African Violet Master List. A lot of new cultivars are added at that time.
  2. Order an Internet subscription from the AVSA office. For the same $5.00 you can download all six updates for an entire year. Every two months you will be sent an e-mail message with a password and instructions on how to download the updated database from this web site.
